On behalf of the Church Board, I am writing to extend an invitation to you to join us for Pastors Appreciation Day on Sunday, _________, 20__ as we extend our thanks and appreciation to Pastor John Doe for his ministry here at First Christian Church.
This letter of invitation is being sent to each family that considers First Christian Church their home church, so that you can join us for this very special day in the life of the church family.
We believe the Bible is clear in encouraging us to show our love and appreciation to Pastor Doe and his family as they continue to labor for the Lord so faithfully in the church. The Bible tells us in Ephesians 4:11-12, “And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ.”
Pastor Doe’s work here with us makes it clear that God has truly blessed us, and want to be sure to express our appreciation publicly.
We will be receiving a special love offering for Pastor Doe and his family, and if you would like to this offering, please simply designate this on your giving envelope. We will then be presenting him and his family with the special offering the following Sunday.
We want to assure Pastor Doe of our desire to work with him in the building of the church ministry. The following short story illustrates the value of working together:
Two men were riding a bicycle built for two when they came to a steep hill. It took a great deal of struggle for the men to complete what proved to be a very stiff climb. When they got to the top, the man in front turned to the other and said: “Boy, that sure was a hard climb.” The fellow in back replied, “Yes, and if I hadn’t kept the brakes on all the way, we certainly would have rolled down backwards.”
We hope to see you on Sunday, ____________, 2005 for this very special day!
