I wanted to take just a moment to send you a note to wish you a Happy Birthday, and to let you know how valuable you are in God\u2019s sight. The Bible tells us in Psalm 139:13 \u201cFor you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother\u2019s womb.\u201d Scriptures such as this give us a wonderful assurance that absolutely NONE Of us are here on planet Earth by accident, but we are all of \u201cdivine design\u201d.<\/p>\n
The way to true happiness and peace is to determine the plan God has for our life and then do our best to walk in His perfect will. He has promised us that He will never leave us or forsake us, so we have great assurance that IF (that big, little word) we will continue to walk with Him, the way will be clear. Birthdays are a reminder of our beginning, and as we grow older, we find that they are also a reminder of the fact that one day there will be an \u201cend\u201d.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
While that may not sound encouraging, we also know that for the Christian the \u201cend\u201d is only the \u201cbeginning\u201d as eternity with Christ is our ultimate goal.<\/p>\n
Here\u2019s a nice short story by Elsie Ratowski I thought you\u2019d enjoy:
\nWhen we visit my parents\u2019 grave site, my boys always help water the flowers. One day they argued over who should get the water. Knowing my youngest was born one month after my father died, my elder son said, \u201cYou can\u2019t do it. You didn\u2019t even know Grandpa.\u201d To that my little one replied, \u201cOh yes I did. I was coming down when he was going up.\u201d<\/p>\n
