We are so glad you have joined us today either here or online for our “Parent Appreciation Day” service!
While most of you have never heard of such a thing, this year is quite a different year than our usual Mother's and Father's Days from previous years.
The Global Pandemic we have been dealing with has impacted numerous special occasions and holidays, and the church has not been spared from these challenges.
As we mentioned on Mother's Day, we decided that we would look to Father's Day to celebrate both days as one great day of appreciation for both Dads and Moms!
We welcome you to Church on Pentecost Sunday 2020!
This Pentecost Sunday is far different for many churches from any other Pentecost Sunday in the past!
As churches across the nation and around the world are doing their best to determine proper ways to gather together, one thing is for sure and it is this: the Church of Jesus Christ is alive and well!
That first Pentecost Sunday happened over 2,000 years ago as the Holy Spirit was poured out on 120 believers who had gathered to receive the promised gift!
We are so glad you have joined us for our Mother's Day 2020!
Things are quite different this year than previous years as we now have become accustomed to terms such as “social distancing” and “flattening the curve” and even “lock-down.”
There are many more words that weren't part of our vocabulary last year at this time, but we continue to press on and believe God has the answer for what we are going through.
As we take the time once again to pause and appreciate Mothers, we cannot ignore the fact that this year is different than any other year we have done so.
As we continue to navigate through these difficult times in our Nation and world, we wanted to take a few moments to give a “shout-out” to all Mothers.
We often hear appreciation for those who are on the front lines making sure we have food in the stores, in addition to people responding to emergencies and other professions that are such a blessing to all of us.
We know that the church is so much more than the building we gather in to worship together! Though we as God's people may be a spread out today watching the service in our homes, we are still united together in spirit as we praise our risen Savior!
I want to challenge you today to shut down all the distractions that can take place during online meetings, and dedicate these next moments to remember how awesome God is!
