Warm Christian Greetings! John 1:14 says: And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
What a wonderful blessing it is to know the Christ of Christmas! While so many in the world move toward the statement “Happy Holidays”, we as Christians know that the Christmas Season is truly the time we celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We do not need to be “shy” or even “politically correct” about it! He has done so much for us, and while we could never repay Him, we do offer our lives as living sacrifices to be used for His glory. (Romans 12:1)
Last year, we were able to receive an offering for the church in honor of the birth of the Lord…in a sense, a Birthday Gift for Jesus. (After all, it is His birthday :-) We rejoiced together as ___________ was received on December 20, and more funds followed to assist in the purchase and eventual placement of the steeple on the church. This has been a wonderful addition to the outside of the church, as the steeple can be seen from a distance, and this “building” is recognized as a building set apart for the Lord.
Once again, we would like to encourage you to consider a “Gift for Jesus” in the form of a Love Offering to be received on Sunday, December 19 in the Morning Service. As a church board, we have made a list of needs that are “high priority”, and believe that God will help us to exceed last year’s offering in anticipation of supplying for the needs of the church that we worship our Savior in. 1. Carpeting for Classrooms on Lower Level 2. Telephone System 3. Landscaping 4. Portable Baptistry Tank We praise God for the generosity of each and every one regardless of the ability to give in this offering. We look back in thanksgiving over the past, and know that the same God who has met us then will meet us again! Thank you for your prayerful consideration of these pressing needs.
