Church Letter to Homebound Member for Easter Sunday

Dear (member),

As we approach the season of celebrating the death and glorious resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, I hope this letter finds you well.  Our prayers are with you and your family, and we would like for you to know that your presence is missed at services.

The symbolism of Jesus’ resurrection is powerful when thinking about sickness.  Jesus Christ, although he suffered so horribly from pain inflicted upon His physical body, provided us with the truest example of how the soul God has given us is stronger and more important than the body that houses it.  You may not be able to worship with us at church on Easter Sunday, but never forget that “…height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 9:39)  Your body can keep you from church, but nothing can keep you from God and his wisdom and love.

I ask that you take the time this Easter to strengthen your relationship with Jesus Christ.  Relieve your burdens unto Him and be mindful to acknowledge the sacrifice of His death as well as the triumph of his resurrection.  Enjoy the blessings that God has placed in your life and know that with Him, you possess an incredible strength of spirit.

We would love to hear from you, so please feel free to call the church and keep us updated on your health at (111)111-1111.  Have a blessed Easter.

Your Pastor,

John Doe
