Church New Year Letters can be easily modified to fit within the context of your particular ministry. Written by a Pastor with over 35 years of ministry experience, they will be a great addition to your present “toolbox” of ministry helps as you inspire people!
As we stand at the threshold of a new year, I’m reminded of the beautiful truth found in Lamentations 3:22-23: “Because of the Lord’s great love, we are not consumed, for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.”
Each new year—and indeed, every single day—is a gift of God’s grace. It’s a chance to begin again, to recommit, and to draw closer to Him. Whatever challenges or triumphs we experienced last year, we can bring them all before the Lord, knowing that His mercies are fresh and abundant for us today.
As we prepare to “cross over” from this year to a new year, I'm reminded of a powerful story from Joshua 3:14-17, which, no doubt, will be familiar to most of you.
God's people had been delivered from slavery in Egypt after 400 years of serving the goals and agenda of godless leaders in a pagan nation. They then spent the next 40 years wandering in the wilderness as a result of disobedience, disbelief, and despair! Moses had passed away, and a new leader named Joshua was now leading the people into the land promised by God to His people.
As we begin the New Year, I wanted to share a scripture focusing on the first and last letters of the Greek Alphabet – “Alpha” and “Omega.”
As you know, Jesus refers to Himself as the Alpha and Omega in Revelation 22:13 (NKJV) 13 I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, the First and the Last.”
We must remember that regardless of what we will face in the upcoming year, Jesus Christ will be there in the beginning and at the end!
New beginnings can be both exciting and intimidating. They represent a chance to start fresh and make positive changes in our lives, but they also require us to let go of the familiar and step into the unknown.
As Christians, we can find hope and strength in knowing that God is with us in all things, including the new beginnings we face. In Isaiah 43:19, the Lord says, “Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it?” God is constantly at work in our lives, creating new opportunities and possibilities for us.
As we start a new year, it is a natural time to reflect on the past and set goals for the future. But as Christians, it is important that our goals are not just about achieving personal success or happiness, but rather about honoring God and living according to His will.
One way to set godly goals is to start by prayerfully seeking guidance from God. Take time to listen to His voice and ask for His direction in your life. The Bible says in Psalm 37:4, “Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.” When we seek God first, He will lead us and give us the desires that align with His will for our lives.
