Scripture: “Let all that ye do be done in love.” — 1 Corinthians 16:14 (ASV)
Dear Church Family,
February often turns our thoughts toward love, but Scripture reminds us that love is not merely a sentiment—it is a command. The Apostle Paul writes, “Let all that ye do be done in love.” Not some things. Not only easy things. All things.
I just wanted to take a moment to send a letter of invitation to our annual Church Valentines Banquet to be held on (DAY, DATE AND TIME) here in the Church Fellowship Hall.
Each year, we take this time to spend with our loved ones here at First Christian Church as we celebrate the love God has planted in our hearts for each other.
1 Corinthians 13:13 (NKJV) 13 And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.
Valentine's Day is February 14th (as always), but this year February 14th is on a Sunday!
Jesus says in Matthew 22:39, “Love your neighbor as yourself.” But we know that it's preceded by another and greater commandment. “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the greatest commandment. And the second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself.”
While we realize Valentine's Day's primary purpose is the expression of love between each other, the foundation for the kind of love God wants us to have is in the Word of God!
February is the month of love. It is a month when we celebrate Valentine’s Day, hearts, flowers, cupids and my favorite of all – candy. It is a time to reminisce with the person we love – our sweetheart and valentine.
I trust you are doing well, and God is richly blessing your marriage!
I wanted to take this opportunity during this very special time of the year to send a note of encouragement to all of the married couples in the church.
