Once again it’s that time of year that kid’s look forward to and some parents dread: Summer vacation! That also means that it’s time for our annual Vacation Bible School, and I want to extend a personal invitation to the children in your household.
As we continue to navigate these uncharted waters of a Global Pandemic, we believe God helps us find ways to reach people as never before.
While we are looking forward to the day we can join together without concern for social distancing or masks; this is not a day to shut down the ministry that needs to take place!
If there's ever a day we need the encouragement that comes from the Word of God and fellowship with one another, it is today.
Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.
–Proverbs 22:6
Teachers are like pastors: you assume the responsibility and privilege of sharing God’s Word in a way that makes it easy for others to understand. Explaining scripture to children, especially, is neither a small or easy task. On the contrary, the task of relating the abstract or challenging aspects of our Creator is one that requires a special set of gifts from the Lord, and I, for one, am thankful that you have put your spiritual gifts to use so willingly over the years.
Pastors and teachers both assume the awesome honor and responsibility of providing adults with deeper insight and understanding of God’s Word. As we both know, this job is satisfying, demanding, and challenging.
Instruct the wise and they will be wiser still; teach the righteous and they will add to their learning.
–Proverbs 9:9
I wanted to take this opportunity to send you a note to thank you so much for volunteering your time to teach in the (NAME OF CLASS OR MINISTRY).
While it seems like we tend to ask for volunteers quite a bit here at the church, rest assured, we are always thrilled when someone steps up to “answer the call” and get involved in a way perhaps they never have before! It's exciting to see people begin to grow in their faith as they reach out to be a blessing to others!
