Welcome! Can you believe it is already the third week of Advent? With Christmas approaching, we can often get caught up in the business and stress that comes with the holiday season. With so much going on around us, it is important that we remain focused on the real meaning of Christmas.
Isaiah 60:1 tells us this: Arise, shine; For your light has come! And the glory of the LORD is risen upon you.
As you know, this scripture was written by the prophet Isaiah hundreds of years before Jesus was born!
Today, we continue to celebrate this wonderful Savior, Jesus Christ came to be not only “a” light to the world but “THE” light that would be needed to guide us!
Good [morning/afternoon/evening], and welcome to [Name of Church]! We are so glad to have you join us today as we celebrate the fourth and final Sunday of Advent—a time of preparation and anticipation as we draw near to Christmas.
This morning, our focus is on love—the greatest gift of all. As we light the fourth candle on the Advent wreath, we are reminded of God’s boundless love for us, shown in the most profound way through the gift of His Son, Jesus Christ.
The Psalmist writes in Psalm 95:1-2 (NKJV) 1 Oh come, let us sing to the LORD! Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation. 2 Let us come before His presence with Thanksgiving; Let us shout joyfully to Him with Psalms.
Somehow, we have come to think of Thanksgiving as a “once a year” Holiday, but it's quite clear in the Word that it's much more than that!
On behalf of the leadership and congregation of (NAME OF CHURCH), I would like to take this opportunity to express our appreciation for your service in the Military.
We, as a Nation have often been complacent in our expression of thanks for the fact that so many, like you, have served to provide the protection and freedoms we enjoy as Americans.
With our freedom to worship God seemingly always under attack both from outside forces and those inside America, I believe we as churches should be the first to line up and say, “Thank You”!
