Welcome, Brothers and Sisters in Christ to (NAME OF CHURCH)!
We are so glad you have to have the privilege of worshiping alongside you today in the House of God!
Let’s reflect together on the following scripture from Hebrews 12:28, which says, “Let us be grateful for receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, and thus let us offer to God acceptable worship, with reverence and awe, for our God is a consuming fire.”
We serve a God who is worthy of our worship because He invites us to be a part of a Kingdom that offers security and hope. We know that He can meet our every need because, as this scripture tells us, His Kingdom cannot be shaken. What an awesome and almighty God we serve!
Acceptable worship, as this verse mentions, is when we come together to give glory to our Lord and Savior, remembering that He is worthy of our attention and focus- it’s when we turn off all of the distractions and contemplate his goodness and majesty.
There are so many things in the world today that are vying for our attention: Phones buzzing, televisions blaring, emails pouring in. Being in God’s House gives us the opportunity to silence the distractions for a while and turn our affections fully towards our Savior.
Today as you enter into worship, I encourage you to reflect on the promises that God offers to His people. Remember what He has done for us and the good works that He continues to do. He is a righteous and loving Father.
Our God is a powerful, All-consuming fire! He is worthy of our reverence and awe.
Again, welcome to the Lord’s house! It’s our privilege to praise and worship with you today.
