Come Back to Church – Post Covid

Greetings in Christ!

The past few years have been challenging for every individual, family, business, and Church. Unfortunately, these are just a few categories of people and entities impacted by this global pandemic.

Political and social “norms” have also been in upheaval, while so many of our leaders have often desired to use tragic events to score political points.

I don't have to spend time in this brief letter convincing you of these things as you have seen it all with your own eyes.

Condolence Letter – Loss of Loved One to Covid

Dear (NAME),

Revelation 21:4 (NKJV) 4 And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.”

The scripture above serves as a beautiful assurance and reminder that what we see in this world will not last forever.   The joys that await the believer who dies in the Lord is far beyond anything we could ask or even imagine!

Welcome Back to Church Fall

There's a saying we have heard over the past few months, and it's this; “we're in this together.” Every time I've heard that I've thought to myself that while we may be in it together, that “together” includes the realization we need to try to accomplish that six feet apart!

This kind of thinking goes so against what the church of Jesus Christ is all about. Of all people, we should be appreciative of the fact that we are “better together,” but then again, we are reminded on a daily basis not to be “too together.”

At times my brain not only hurts, but my heart does too.

Letter to Parents Before School Year

*Note: This letter was also available in 2020 so minor edits may be needed for 2021.

Greetings in Christ!

As we get closer to the start of another school year, I wanted to send this note to all of the parents who attend (NAME OF CHURCH).

Please rest assured that we are praying for you during this challenging time in our Nation and World. If someone had said just a few short years ago that we would be facing the challenges we see, we wouldn't have believed them.

Parents like you are probably struggling with what School is going to look like, as even now, there is not much clarity from those in leadership. These decisions made by others also impact employment options for many families, as well as just the opportunity to have family time together in the evenings.

Letter to Students Before School Year

Dear (First Name),

As we look forward to the start of another school year, without a doubt, this is far different than any other year! You are already well acquainted with the events of the past few months.

I would love to be able to “snap my fingers” and fix it all, of course, I can't do that. Yet, let me take a moment to assure you that we here at (NAME OF CHURCH) will be praying for you as you start the year!

While things can be quite discouraging right now, I would encourage you to take some time each day, even if it's a few moments in the morning to read some scripture and pray about the day.
