You will see many letters in this category that were written long ago but can be easily modified to encourage people now. Just change a few lines of text and send it via email or “snail mail”.
Please don’t hesitate to contact us here if you have additional suggestions.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Each letter in this category will have a date at the top in which it was posted. The situation is very “fluid” so you will need to make changes to every letter to reflect your ministry needs. Much of the wording will be relevant, but much of it will not be, depending on the need of the day.
Please be patient as we add letters as quickly as possible even while we deal with our own ministry situation.
We have been going through tremendous difficulty, both in our country and around the world, due to Covid-19 or Coronavirus. Many businesses are shutting down as well as numerous cancellations and postponements of events we took for granted only a few short weeks ago.
Yet, let me remind you today that Easter is NOT CANCELED! Indeed, we may celebrate the Resurrection a bit differently this year than we ever have. Still, I believe because Jesus rose from the grave, we have tremendous hope for today, tomorrow, and all eternity!
As we shared previously, this situation is quite fluid and we are trying our best to work on a plan as we move forward over the next days, weeks or months?
While we could become distressed about what we are going through, we can also view it as an opportunity for God to show up powerfully through His people.
While we technically “could” gather like we did this past Sunday, we want to be good neighbors and do our best to “flatten the curve” of this infection taking place. While we all have opinions on what is happening, let's just take the “lemons” we've been given, and make some amazing “lemonade”!
Many have been asking what the plan is and while we have a plan we've developed, there is always the real possibility it will be modified, but for now, here it is:
First of all, I want to express my deep appreciation to you for you during this very challenging time in the life of our Nation and World. It is encouraging and heartening to see so many of you living out your faith in real-time!
As a result of the Coronavirus, we as a church are experiencing issues we would never have anticipated only a few short weeks ago. We have already made decisions that became outdated only the next day due to announcements from our Governor (or President).
Many of you have seen the constant updates with the words “flatten the curve” involved. Of course, you can Google that for yourself, but the main idea is that we need to see infections begin to flatline. Ultimately, the infections will start to go down, and we can start to pull out of this crisis.
We are in the midst of a tremendous trial both, as a Nation, as well as the World as we seek answers for Coronavirus. We continue in prayer for a quick, lasting resolution to the pandemic.
I'm reminded of a wonderful Scripture in Psalms 46:1-3 (NIV) God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore, we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging”. With all my heart, I believe we continue to serve a good God who has already been to “tomorrow” and knows “the rest of the story”. While we continue to have great faith in God, we also must use our God-given wisdom during these times.
Some may be wondering what we plan to do as a church, so we would like to outline the following, realizing of course that the situation continues to be fluid and things could change.
