Greetings in the precious name of the Lord! First, let me extend a heartfelt thank you for all of the work you do in our Sunday school. It is true that our children are the future, both in the world and in the church. The time you and the other teachers spend teaching them and nurturing them in the Lord is a true blessing to all of us.

As Christians, I know you realize that a house is not necessarily a home, but a home is built with great love and an awareness and appreciation to the Lord who is the giver of every good and perfect gift! James 1:17 “Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.”
As we are all painfully aware, our community has been devastated by a serious hurricane. While we are thankful that the human toll was low, we must not forget the many members of our community who lost everything they own. For this reason, I am asking those who can to make a special offering that will be used to help the victims of the hurricane.
It is with a great sense of burden and sadness in my heart as I prepare this note to you. Like you, I have seen such utter devastation and calamity unfolding before our eyes in the aftermath of the earthquake in Haiti.
News outlets are doing a tremendous job in sharing the details of this disaster, and it seems that each day provides more insight into the plight of the people of Haiti.
Governments are springing into action, and of course, the United States continues to take the lead in situations such as this, especially with the reality that this is a very close neighbor.
