Child First Birthday Letter (To Parents)

Dear (NAME),

As David's first birthday approaches, I wanted to take this opportunity to write to wish YOU a Happy Birthday as well.

While a child hardly realizes the significance of a first birthday, to the parents, it is a wonderfully joyous occasion as they pause and reflect on the events of the past year (and nine months :-).  I don't have to tell you, but profound changes have taken place in your life such as lost sleep, the sacrifice of personal time, juggling of schedules, etc.

Give for Shoebox Gifts – Samaritans Purse

Dear (NAME),

I wanted to take a moment to send you this brief note to inform you of the tremendous giving opportunity being made available to us by Franklin Graham and the ministry team at Samaritan's Purse.

Every year at this time, a special emphasis is made on ministering the love of Jesus Christ in a very practical way by providing gifts to needy children all around the world, who would otherwise never know the joy of receiving gifts at Christmas time.

The expressions of joy on the faces of these special youngsters is a sight to behold, and you can gather more information on this great ministry at www.samaritanspurse.org.  This ministry is worthy of your support.

Free Church Letter To Veteran on Veterans Day

Dear (NAME),

It is with deep appreciation I take this opportunity to write to you at this time that our Nation dedicates to honoring War Veterans.

When our Country called, you answered.  While time goes by and many people seem to go on with life with little or no regard for the sacrifices of our Veterans, I want to assure you that we here at First Christian Church hold you in high esteem.

We know that we live in a world that is filled with “wars, and rumors of wars” as the Bible indicates would be the case in the last days before the return of Jesus Christ.  We also know that true lasting peace will only be known when Jesus Christ establishes His millennial reign, but until then to experience peace, some have to “make the peace” through standing up to enemies of what is good and right around the world.

Church Offering Letter – Haiti Earthquake Disaster

Dear (FRIENDS)

It is with a great sense of burden and sadness in my heart as I prepare this note to you.  Like you, I have seen such utter devastation and calamity unfolding before our eyes in the aftermath of the earthquake in Haiti.

News outlets are doing a tremendous job in sharing the details of this disaster, and it seems that each day provides more insight into the plight of the people of Haiti.

Governments are springing into action, and of course, the United States continues to take the lead in situations such as this, especially with the reality that this is a very close neighbor.

Jesus said these powerful words in Matthew 25:34-36 (NIV) 34 “Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. 35 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.'
