Christmas Letter – Keep Christ in Christmas

Warm Greetings!

As we once again come upon “the most wonderful time of the year”, I wanted to take this opportunity to share some words of encouragement with our church family.

This year, we are confronted with the real possibility that some of the gifts our children or grandchildren want may be on a ship off the coast of California! There seems to be an interruption in the supply chain, and while there is most likely much blame to go around for the situation, it's still a situation!

Someone has rightfully observed that we may have to get back to celebrating Christmas for what it's really all about, which is Jesus Christ!

Christmas Letter – Jesus Came to Give Life

Greetings in Christ!

Once again, we are coming to that special day of the year that we celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

I wanted to share a verse that we would not often associate with Christmas, but I believe it is relevant, especially in light of all we have faced over the past months.

John 10:10 (NKJV) 10 The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life and that they may have it more abundantly.

The Global Pandemic has impacted so many lives in a variety of ways. Last year at this time, there was so much division about the various opinions of how things should or should not be. It was hard to imagine things could be more divided at the time, but it seems the enemy is doing all he can to “divide and conquer.”

Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year Letter

Dear

Greetings in the Name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!

As we once again move toward the Holiday Season, which includes Thanksgiving, Christmas, and then New Year's Day, I want to take just a moment to encourage you to pause and consider just how good God has been to you over this past year.

While there have been many challenges for us, as well as the entire world over the past many months, God is still good!  Once again, we are reminded of the fragility of life and that we should do our best to value our loved ones.

Christmas Church Letter – Evangelistic (Christ First)

Dear Church Family,

Luke 2:12 – This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.” 16 – So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger.

In all of the activities and events of this Christmas season, the verses above give us a sense of the very first Christmas morning. A time of excitement, yet serenity, a time of anticipation, the realization of the most blessed Gift that could ever come to humanity, Jesus Christ, the Son of God!

We are living in a day when it seems that the word “Christmas” is constantly under attack as we as Christians are encouraged to feel somehow “guilty” when it comes to this particular time.  Well, let me say in as loud a “voice” as I can type… “I'M NOT ASHAMED OF THE GOSPEL. ”  Romans 1:16 – For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

Thanksgiving Letter – Thankful in Everything

Thanksgiving Greetings!

I wanted to take this opportunity to send a letter to you as we come upon the Holiday Season, especially Thanksgiving.

The Bible tells us in 1 Thessalonians 5:18 (NKJV) 18 in everything, give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

I don't know about you, but I find this verse easy to read but a bit difficult to follow at times. Paul doesn't just tell the Thessalonian church to “be thankful when all is well,” but in “everything, give thanks”!

That word “everything” seems to carry the idea of… well, everything!
