The year 2020 will soon be in our past, and if you're like me, it can't come a moment too soon! This year has been months of difficulty on so many levels, for so many people. With the effects of a Global Pandemic still taking place, it seems there are reasons for Hope. While there are varied opinions about a vaccine and what hope it provides, there can be no doubt, many are believing for the best.
I want to take this opportunity to remind you once again of the fact that in Christ “hope came down” to dwell among us over 2,000 years ago. He continues to dwell here by the power of the Holy Spirit and, through His death and resurrection, provided the perfect “vaccine” for humanity's sin problem!
What a year it has been, and it's not even over yet!
If you are like me at all, there are times we look back over this past year in wonder and amazement. It often leaves me shaking my head a bit and even saying out loud from time to time, “I never saw that coming”!
From the Global Pandemic at the beginning of the year continuing through even now, as well as racial and political tensions, can there be any doubt that we need God more now than ever before?
One thought seems to help me balance out many things we see now, and it is this; “Not one time has God ever stated how surprised He has been by all this”!
On behalf of the staff here at (NAME OF CHURCH), I wanted to take this opportunity to wish you and yours a wonderful Thanksgiving Season.
Without a doubt, we could spend much time focusing on the many things going wrong in our Nation, but I want to remind us of the tremendous importance and calling we have to be a people of Thankfulness!
1 Chronicles 16:34 (NKJV) 34 Oh, give thanks to the LORD, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever.
We have been going through tremendous difficulty, both in our country and around the world, due to Covid-19 or Coronavirus. Many businesses are shutting down as well as numerous cancellations and postponements of events we took for granted only a few short weeks ago.
Yet, let me remind you today that Easter is NOT CANCELED! Indeed, we may celebrate the Resurrection a bit differently this year than we ever have. Still, I believe because Jesus rose from the grave, we have tremendous hope for today, tomorrow, and all eternity!
We are coming upon that particular time on our calendar that we spend in appreciating what the Lord did for us on the Cross. Yet, beyond that, when He arose from the grave on the third day morning.
The women went to the tomb for the sole purpose of anointing Jesus' body with spices, as was the custom of the day.
