Well, it's that time of year again… the Big Game! At First Christian Church, we view this time as a wonderful time of outreach to our community, and we want you to be part of it.
As the two best football teams come together to go head-to-head on the field, we will be meeting in the Family Life Center to watch the game together and have a great time of fellowship with more food than you can imagine.
One of the highlights of the evening is at halftime of the game. During this time, we will be watching a video testimony of ______________ _____________, who plays for the _____________ _____________ football team.
As you stroll through the local stores, you’ll see an abundance of bunnies, baskets, and candy for sale, and those may be the only signs of Easter you’ll find outside of church. Unlike its Christmas counterpart, Easter is mostly uncommercialized, which is pretty remarkable: the day that we celebrate the glory of Christ’s resurrection remains untainted by retailers.
However, just because we’re not receiving Easter ad upon Easter ad in our newspapers and inboxes doesn’t mean we should pigeonhole the holiday as a minor celebration. Easter is perhaps the most crucial holiday on the Christian calendar—even the word crucial has its roots in Christianity, stemming from the term for crucify.

As you may know, the month of February is a time that has been set aside to honor and appreciate the sacrifices of African-Americans who have had an impact on our nation.
Prior to 1976, the celebration time was one week as Mayors all over the Nation gave proclamations of the importance of recognizing and appreciating accomplishments of African-Americans.

During each service, we will take some time to reflect upon those who have paid such a high price in the struggle for many of the rights and privileges we enjoy today. Yes, while there is still a long way to go, without a doubt, Martin Luther King Jr.'s dream is being realized more and more with each passing year.
