It's time for new beginnings! It's time for a fresh start! It's time to make some resolutions!
Thank you for taking a few moments to read this Church New Years Letter.
These are often statements that are made by most people at the beginning of a new year, and we as Christians are not really all that different! Who wants to remain the same as before? I know I don't, because I want to continue to grow in the Lord, as well as put off some of those things that have held me down for being all He wants me to be.
The year 2020 will soon be in our past, and if you're like me, it can't come a moment too soon! This year has been months of difficulty on so many levels, for so many people. With the effects of a Global Pandemic still taking place, it seems there are reasons for Hope. While there are varied opinions about a vaccine and what hope it provides, there can be no doubt, many are believing for the best.
I want to take this opportunity to remind you once again of the fact that in Christ “hope came down” to dwell among us over 2,000 years ago. He continues to dwell here by the power of the Holy Spirit and, through His death and resurrection, provided the perfect “vaccine” for humanity's sin problem!
It hardly seems possible, but we are nearing the end of another year. It feels like it was only yesterday that we were beginning the year with anticipation of the many things God would do in our lives, families, and church!
I don’t know how you feel, but it seems that time is passing faster than ever before. I realize that’s not the case, but perhaps it is because we have become so busy that we often fail to take the time to pause and appreciate God's many blessings.
What a year it has been, and it's not even over yet!
If you are like me at all, there are times we look back over this past year in wonder and amazement. It often leaves me shaking my head a bit and even saying out loud from time to time, “I never saw that coming”!
From the Global Pandemic at the beginning of the year continuing through even now, as well as racial and political tensions, can there be any doubt that we need God more now than ever before?
One thought seems to help me balance out many things we see now, and it is this; “Not one time has God ever stated how surprised He has been by all this”!
I wanted to take a moment to send you a note to thank you for your first-time donation to (NAME OF CHURCH).
We believe God has blessed this church with generous people in the area of finances and their prayers and talents.
Over the years, we have continued to reach our community, nation, and the world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It's because of people like you who understand the urgency of the hour.
