A good church greeting, or church welcome can have a number of values. Here are a few:
Hospitality: A warm and friendly greeting can make visitors feel welcome and accepted at a church. This can be especially important for those who may be new to the church or who may be visiting for the first time.
Community: Greetings can help to create a sense of community and belonging within the church. By actively reaching out and greeting others, church members can show that they care about each other and are invested in building relationships.
Inclusivity: A welcoming greeting can help to create an inclusive and diverse environment within the church. This can be especially important for those who may feel marginalized or excluded in other areas of society.
Evangelism: A friendly greeting can also be an opportunity to share the love of Christ with others. By welcoming people with a warm and open heart, church members can show the love of God to those around them and potentially lead others to a relationship with Jesus.
Overall, a good church greeting, or church welcome can help to create a warm, welcoming, and inclusive atmosphere within the church, which can be beneficial for both members and visitors.
What an exciting day to gather together as the family of God! While many of us will join family later in the day or even after church, I can't think of a better time to be with fellow believers in Christ!
Just think… on that Christmas morning over 2,000 years ago were just two people who had been given shelter in a stable because there was no room for them in the inn. Yet, soon that number would increase to three as Jesus was born just like the angel said He would be! Prophecies were fulfilled, and the Savior of the world had arrived!
The Bible tells us in 1 Thessalonians 5:18 (NKJV) 18 in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
The Apostle Paul told the early church that it was essential to give thanks “in everything” we may go through. Although, there are many things we may find challenging to be thankful “for,” we CAN be thankful “in” all circumstances knowing that God will help us go through that journey.
Welcome! Today is the first Sunday in the Advent season. Can you think of some of the Biblical themes of this season? Certainly, the love and faithfulness of God our Father is high up there, but have you ever considered the idea of hope? Although it may not be the first thing that comes to mind during the Christmas season, there is much to consider.
In fact, hope is a very prominent theme in Advent. The anticipation of the coming Messiah is always in light of the hope we have in his return. Just as the Israelites hoped for their deliverance, we too look forward to the final deliverance, his return in glory where he will create a new heavens and a new earth. As the prophet Isaiah proclaims:
Welcome! Today is the second Sunday in the Advent season.
Throughout the service, on this special Sunday, we will focus on the theme of “Faith.” The Word of God makes it clear that we can't even approach God without having Faith in our hearts.
Hebrews 11:6 (NKJV) 6 But without Faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.
