October is here! It seems almost hard to believe, but this year is going by very quickly and we will soon be sharing Christmas news with you.
Many congregations and denominations have designated the month of October as “Pastor Appreciation Month” and use a portion of that month to honor their Pastor(s) in a variety of different ways. We too, believe in the importance of honoring those whom God has placed in our midst.
On behalf of the Church Board, I am writing to extend an invitation to you to join us for Pastors Appreciation Day on Sunday, _________, 20__ as we extend our thanks and appreciation to Pastor John Doe for his ministry here at First Christian Church.
I just wanted to take a moment to briefly write to let you know how much I appreciate your work as Associate Pastor here at First Christian Church. What a joy it is to labor for the Master right here where God has placed us and our families. There is nothing so pleasing as being in the center of the will of God.
The Dictionary defines the word “appreciate” in this way; “to be grateful or thankful for.”
The Bible says in 1 Thessalonians 5:12-13, “Now we ask you, brothers, to respect those who work hard among you, who are over you in the Lord and who admonish you. Hold them in the highest regard in love because of their work. Live in peace with each other.”
We believe that one of the ways we can truly “live in peace with each other” is to show our “highest regard in love” to our Pastor and his wife (NAME),
I wanted to take this opportunity to send you a note to thank you so much for volunteering your time to teach in the (NAME OF CLASS OR MINISTRY).
While it seems like we tend to ask for volunteers quite a bit here at the church, rest assured, we are always thrilled when someone steps up to “answer the call” and get involved in a way perhaps they never have before! It's exciting to see people begin to grow in their faith as they reach out to be a blessing to others!
