Dear
The pain you are feeling at this time must be intense. Most likely, there are questions of “why” that are part of your thoughts, and even as you have shared with each other your thoughts and emotions.
The value of well-written sympathy letters within the context of a church cannot be overestimated. We have a wonderful selection of condolence letter samples that can easily be modified.
Please note that it is very important that you do not send these letters as written. Make them personal to the person or family you are reaching out to with your thoughtful words!
Written by a Pastor with over 35 years of ministry experience, the letters in this category will be a tremendous blessing to those you minister to.
For instance, you may want to send a letter to someone who is going through their first Christmas without their spouse. Or, send a letter to thank a family for the honorarium following a funeral service. In addition, send a letter of notification to a family following a memorial gift to the church.

Dear
The entire congregation of First Christian Church joins me in extending heartfelt sympathy on the passing of your wife. One of the greatest bonds of relationships we have is the one that exists between husband and wife, and the breaking of that bond no doubt brings unspeakable pain.
On behalf of the Church Board and Congregation of First Christian Church, I wanted to extend our thanks to you for the beautiful Altar Flowers placed in the Sanctuary this past Sunday.

2 Corinthians 1:3-5 God is the Father who is full of mercy and all comfort. He comforts us every time we have trouble, so when others have trouble, we can comfort them with the same comfort God gives us. We share in the many sufferings of Christ. In the same way, much comfort comes to us through Christ.
