Resolution Letter of Death (1)

To the family of:

At such a time as this, we the members of First Christian Church would like to extend our heart felt sympathy to you the family.  We realize that words may seem empty as you are grieving the loss of your beloved ____________. However, we believe it is important that you know your friends and Family are praying that God will surround you in His loving arms, and that His peace will be your strength. All of our hearts here at FCC go out to you the family, and while we may not be able to take your pain “away”, we trust and believe that our Lord will be your wonderful source of comfort and strength.

2 Corinthians 1:3-5 God is the Father who is full of mercy and all comfort. He comforts us every time we have trouble, so when others have trouble, we can comfort them with the same comfort God gives us. We share in the many sufferings of Christ. In the same way, much comfort comes to us through Christ.

Let it hereby be known that as an Honorary Member of First Christian Church, we release __________in the safe arms of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Death of a Close Friend (2)

Dear (member),

I was truly sorry to have heard of the passing of your friend, (name).  I understand that the two of you were very close and I wanted to reach out to you and your family in your mourning.

Friends are amongst the greatest gifts that God has bestowed upon us, his children.  They provide wisdom and comfort, fellowship and love, honesty and patience.  Jesus Christ himself referred to his disciples as his friends, heeding their advice and cherishing their support and companionship.  Our friends are our family, and be mindful that God is with you as you mourn the loss of family.

Sympathy Loss of Teenage Child

Dear (member),

I am writing to express to you my greatest sympathy as you cope with the passing of your child, name.  Our hearts and prayers go out to you and your family during what must be the most trying of times.

It is difficult to fathom the feelings of confusion and sorrow that follow the loss of a child, especially one of an age so close to adulthood.  One of the blessings of teenagers is how we are able to see so much of ourselves in them – our strengths, weaknesses, how we develop into fully formed adults.
