Church Offering Letter – Haiti Earthquake Disaster (2)

Dear

I greet you in the Name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and encourage you to read the following note with an open heart concerning the need presented here.

When Thomas Edison was 67 years old, spontaneous combustion broke out in his film room. Everything was destroyed. The next morning, Edison looked at the ruins and said, “There is great value in disaster. All our mistakes are burned up. Thank God we can start anew.” Three weeks after the fire, Edison managed to deliver the first phonograph.

Fortunately, most of us will never have to live through a disaster that destroys everything we own.

However, our neighbors in Haiti are rising every morning amid the ruins of their homeland following the terrible earthquake that recently struck the island.

For people who have already suffered from crippling poverty and lack of education, this catastrophe brings unimaginable suffering.

However, in nature's destruction lie the seeds of hope for the future, and the tragedy suffered by the Haitians is an opportunity for we as Christians to shower them with the Love of God. Christ instructs us to “Love your neighbor as yourself” (Luke 10:27).

Here at FIRST CHRISTIAN CHURCH, we are blessed to enjoy the benefits of living in safety and abundance. What better way for us to follow our Lord's call than to share our blessings with the victims of the Haitian earthquake? To that end, we will receive a special offering on Sunday, MONTH, DAY, to benefit earthquake relief for Haiti.

Please search your heart and give what the Lord places in your heart to share.

Blessings in Christ,

Pastor John Doe
