These Church Discipleship Letters are intended to assist Pastors and Churches in the important task of helping new believers grow in Christ!
Written by a Pastor with over 35 years of ministry experience, they will be a great addition to your follow up efforts to reach your community for Christ!
It is with great joy that I write to you upon your re-dedication to Christ and commitment to follow Him for the rest of your life.
Without a doubt, our lives are filled with not only great times of rejoicing, but as you know, there are times of tremendous trial and difficult circumstances. There is a short saying that simply says; “God is good… ALL the time!” I believe this is more than just a “catchy” phrase, but indeed is Biblical as we read in: Romans 8:28 – “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose”
I just wanted to take a few moments to send a note to thank you for your encouraging testimony this past week.
The Bible tells us in Psalm 107:2 – “Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy;”
What an encouragement it is to have you stand and give praise to God for what He has done in your life. Only eternity will reveal the many lives that have been touched as a result of listening to a testimony such as the one you gave.
I was thrilled to see you back in church, and I was even more thrilled to learn that you are very serious about lining your life back up with God’s will. It’s not always an easy thing to come back to God once we’ve made mistakes. I want you to know that God is pleased with your decision, and I am very proud of you for taking this first step.
God does not hold a grudge against us. Whatever you did in the past is in the past. The same way that we cannot rest on our good works of yesterday, neither should we continue to feel shame in yesterday’s mistakes.
I would like to invite you to participate in what I believe will be a spiritually enriching challenge this year. I am reaching out to members of the [CHURCH NAME] family through this letter to issue a challenge to read the Bible through in a year.
It is with great joy that I write to congratulate you on your decision to accept Christ into your life. It was thrilling to hear of your decision, and I want to be one of the first to let you know that it is by far the most important choice you will ever make.
Perhaps you have heard the term “born again”, and have wondered what it means. Jesus first spoke of this in John 3:3 “Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”
